Douglas Terrace - Three months have passed since the public meeting was held in the church hall to discuss the traffic bottleneck at Douglas Terrace. The CC recently contacted the roads department for a progress report. We were told that an official has been tasked to look into the situation and come up with suggestions. Watch this space.
Website Facts - Community councillor Scott McLean has revealed that, over a four-week period in April/May, the new CC website had 1000 different visitors, mostly from the UK but also from USA, Canada, Antigua, UAE, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and France.
CC Elections - An opportunity will arise to join the CC this October when all community councillors are up for re-election. Some of the current council will want to stand again but, with the CC already short of its quota, fresh blood is needed. For more details, why not come along to the next CC meeting on June 18.
Bus Stop Bloomer - Sometimes when trying to help you only succeed in making matters worse! The shelter at Underwood Cottages was turned around lately as it had been vandalised and was a gathering place for youths.
Now the rain blows in on waiting passengers, the bowling club can't get their hedge cut, and the bus shelter glass can't be cleaned. Back to the drawing board!
Stones in the Park - The stonework at the Birkhill Road entry to the King George V Park has been cleaned up by Stirling Council and the signage at the entrance wall and the Wishing Well are both looking almost as good as new.
