But as many as we could find are being remembered in the exhibition.
This year is 100 years on from the start of that Great War and so, more than most years, they all - surviving veterans or victims - deserve to be remembered. Hence we have compiled our exhibition of photographs and, where they could be found, texts about these people.
The exhibition is for commemoration, for remembering and respecting those who helped - we shouldn’t forget that it took some time, and another dreadful conflict - to make our world a better place for future Cambusbarronians.
It will be opened at 2.30pm on Sunday August 3rd by Peter McGuire, a local ex-soldier who served in World War Two.
